Keys we can replace
Standard metal keys
Older vehicles without a chip can usually be cut from the lock or the key code.
Transponder keys
A chip in the head talks to the immobilizer; the key is cut and then programmed to your car.
Laser-cut keys
Thicker keys with a groove cut along the blade, cut on specialised equipment.
Remotes and smart keys
Fobs and push-to-start keys are paired with the car's computer on site where the model allows.
How replacement works
- Call with the make, model, year and VIN.
- We confirm whether your key can be made on site and quote the price.
- The technician checks your ID and registration or title.
- A new key is cut, programmed and tested in the doors and ignition.
If you still have one working key, a duplicate is simpler and usually costs less than replacing a lost set. Lost keys can also be removed from the car's memory, so a found key won't start it. Programming is covered in more detail on our key programming page.
